The Leineschloss was the residence of the former kings of Hannover. Originally built in the 12th century as a Franciscan monastery, it has been modified and reconstructed several times. It was destroyed during the war but rebuilt between 1957 and 1962. Nowadays, it is the seat of the parliament of Lower Saxony.
