After passing by the Lake Mead, you'll reach the Hoover Dam which is the one responsible for the impounded water on the lake. In order to prevent flooding when the snow from the Rocky Mountains is melting, the dam was created. Its power plant is giving out electricity to nearby communities in addition to the water being distributed too from the Lake Mead.
