The Cathedral of Cologne, officially Hohe Domkirche St. Peter und Maria, is the landmark of the city. It is a Catholic church and the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne. The construction of the church took over 600 years, having a lot of complicated ornaments that have to be regularly maintained. Its facade is the world's second highest gothic construction after the Ulm Muenster.
